Rosie Radio One Year Plan

Okay, okay, okay. I'm starting up this blog to hopefully motivate me (and others?) to get it together!! As a faithful Rosie Radio listener (and Rosie Radio recap reader) I've decided to take "The Challenge". My plan is to set some (realistic) goals, hopefully follow & attain them and/or change 'em as needed.

Here goes nothing...........
1) Mostly eliminate sugar. I say "mostly" b/c I know that realistically I can't give up sugar 100% BUT I'm going to check labels for high fructose corn syrup, cane juice, & other sugars. And mostly avoid.

2) Run a 5K. I'm not a runner. I'm not an athlete. But I've started running. When I say running, I really mean a slow jog :) When I started I couldn't even run for 2 minutes straight. Now I can run 2 miles, but it nearly kills me. So I'm going to start the "Couch potato to 5K" program & see where that takes me.

2a) Go to the gym. Which requires me to call ahead to schedule my daughter (Azalea) in the Child Watch while I work out. I'm aiming for 3 times a week.

3) Lose 25 pounds. How? Well I'm hoping eliminating sugar and running will help. Maybe I need to be more consistent with MyFitnessPal. That might help too. And use common sense when it comes to eating. Like portion control, which I suck at.

4) Be the best Stay at home Mom that I can be. I'm still trying to figure out how to do this. Suggestions welcome :)

5) Live my life as simple and honest as possible. I plan on getting rid of a lot of the crap we have in the house. Purge.purge.purge. We don't need so much stuff. (If you haven't watched, "The Story of Stuff, you should). Buy local (we already get dairy delivery) but buy more from the farmer's market. Cook more. Spend less.

I'm going to start there. Phew! I think I can do it. I think WE ALL CAN DO IT!

Okay time to clean up the dog barf & put away the toilet scrubber & plunger that Azalea just brought to me!! No wonder she was being so quiet!
